Valentine's and Photography

First of all, happy Valentine's day everyone! For those of you who is single like me, happy single awareness day because we're awesome like that. Actually, I think Valentine's day isn't just for couples. You can show your love to your family, your friends, or even your pet or in my case fictional characters. Whoever the hell you care about should receive your love on that day, not just your crush or your boyfriend/girlfriend. Well, you should always give them your love but since it's Valentine's day so yeah ;

The character in the drawing is Valentine's Day. Yep that's his name for real, 'cause me and a couple of my friends made a 'personify holidays' project and V-day's one of them. He's popular among girls and always carries a red rose wherever he goes. He's also narcissistic when it comes to his looks and is sometimes called a playboy by the other holidays. His girlfriend is White Day but he likes to flirt with other girls as well. But don't worry, V-day really likes White Day and vice versa.

Second of all, I've finally used my camera again after... idk, maybe more than a two months to do a proper photo shoot? Heck, it's not even a proper photo shoot. It's just a random urge to go outside after the rain and to photograph wet plants. Yes I have this thing with wet plants. They're just too good to miss and I've always loved taking pictures of water drops.

what the hell is this 8| composition omg I need to work on that orz

This is better than the previous one but what the hell 8|
The title is 'Hanging Around' btw. Lame title is lame okok orz

The problem is, because I haven't touched my camerafor a while, the photos were unsatisfying 8| What the hell happened to my hand, like seriously? Some of them were blurry (my unsteady hands has become even more unsteady from the lack of practice orz), composition was wtfman, but the colors and lighting were okay I think. Good to know I can still set the camera but I guess this means I need more practice.

writingblock + artblock = asdfjasdl;jk

Sometimes I hate myself for not having the mood and ability to write. There are so many ideas in my head but I just can't write it. By 'I can't write it' I mean I can't write the story or novel, but I can write the plot using spiderwebs or bullet points. Talking about it is easy, but writing about it is hard. I mean, I can imagine loads of scenes in my head but it's difficult for me to transfer it to paper or MS Word.

The same thing goes for drawing, but I guess this is too obvious because you all know how bad I am at drawing. Anatomy goddammit why is it so freakin' hard orz It's getting worse because currently I'm having an artblock and I can't even draw eyes properly asldfkasjdl; I'm loosing my sense of sketching when using a tablet so I'm trying to spend more time with my sketchbook. The problem is the scanner is being repaired and idk when it's coming back. No way I'm gonna scan in the photocopy/scanning shops because it costs a lot.

So anywho, I've been forcing myself to draw with a tablet and the result is this:

Strauss, a character from my novel called 'Stickman Invasion'. Lame name is lame okok But I swear it's about stickmans, hence the title. Strauss is one of my characters here aside from the 2 main characters. And yes, the reason I drew Strauss is because I only have to draw one eye lol He's not emo or something like that, but he covers his right eye because there's a vertical scar there and his right eye is also blind. Why? Not gonna tell you here *trollface*. See this is why I'm dying to get in the mood to continue this story ajskdlf;skd

New style by the way. Uh, it's not actually new. I just erased the base colors and only use the shades on a white background ;; But I'm satisfied with the way it turned out and probably I'll continue using this method when I'm doodle-ing (saves the time because I don't need the base colors lol).

asa is a bookstarfish

Not a bookworm, a bookstarfish. Because starfishes are interesting and less disgusting than worms okok.

It's been a month since I started homeschooling, and I must admit that I do a lot of slacking off and only a bit of studying orz Bad habits die hard. I can't study alone when I'm not in the mood. In the end I'll be looking or learning about random stuff and not learn from the materials given by the school.

Once you get used to it it's not really that boring staying home everyday. Most of the time I sepdn my time online (obviously) or these days I've been trying to finish some books. At the beginning of January I was hyped up about homeschooling because I would have a lot of free time and that means I can do stuff (I think I talked about this before. One of my goals was to finish more books). Well yes, I did buy a few books and borrowed them from my friends but now it's piling up and I'm confused in which ones to read.

Those are the books that's in my waiting list. I'm too lazy to translate the scribblings there, sorry orz Some of them I haven't read, some of them I've finished half, and some of them is almost finished but I'm too lazy to finish them. This is really a bad habit, starting a book without finishing the previous one 8| But idk if I'm reading a book that isn't in my fandom list then I would be a slow reader when reading it. However when I already know the fandom and/or like it then I can finish it fast.

Btw I've finished Neil Gaiman's Stardust. 'Twas a good read, but I wouldn't make it into one of my fandoms. It's not long enough so yeah. The Nicolas Flamel series is nice, but so far I've only finished half of The Alchemyst so I don't really know if I'm going to get into that fandom or not. On the other hand, ASOUE (Unfortunate Events) has been in my list for a long time. I think it was after Harry Potter, about 3 or 4 years ago.

I wonder how long it'll take for me to finish them? I've decided to do a challenge/meme from a certain site. The challenge is to finish 50 books in a year. My plan is to read atleast 4 books in a month, which is quite hard for me because I'm too lazy to do it orz I like books, but sometimes I can't seem to bring myself to read them even though I have nothing to do at that time 8|

Anyhow, for those of you who are also in a reading mode, happy reading!

umineko rant post (again) + art dump

When I say I will be more productive when homeschooling I mean it. Well, not that productive, but at least I can draw more because I have more freetime. Playing Umineko is also called productive lmao

lame signature is lame This is actually a doodle I did in my sketchbook (explains the pencil lines, yes?) but I ended up coloring it. Reason? It's Erika. Do you need anymore reason? Anyhow I experimented on a new style and I ended up liking it, I guess I'll be sticking to this style from now on. Unless I find another style that is much more simple that is.

I also tried to draw the blush using Shungiku Nakamura's style. Yes the author of Junjou Romantica. Idk the blush looks nice imo, and it's pretty simple because all you need to do is draw lines overlapping each other (use red when you're CG-ing) 8| Then, just add a bit of red airbrush on it, lower the opacity, and you're done. Simple, rather than using red to shade the cheeks pffft.

GUESS WHO FINISHED EP7 OF UMINEKO.

If you guessed Me, 50 points for your house. Sdlfjask;ld it was all so sad and angsty ;A; Shannon’s and Kinzo’ past life, Yasu’s life as well, and the end of the tea party (that involved Will’s arm ajsdlf;sdj dude are you okay like siriusly 8|), gah that was all very exciting and beautiful at the same time. I was wondering why the hell did the trollface! Claire existed but when I played it the question was answered. You must know what pairing I like here. Why yes indeed, it’s Will/Lion. Obvious right?

Then I get the feeling that everyone in the fandom and who has already played the game has this question popping in their heads, “Lion, what the hell is your gender?” I shall explain my opinion on this and I’m not expecting you to agree with me. It’s just what I think about the whole thing.

First of all, I think Lion is a guy. No, it’s not because I want Will/Lion to be a BL pairing although that would make me extremely happy, it’s because of the things said in this game. According to my reasoning that is.

Yasu’s gender has been established in the game and Yasu’s a she. Everyone must assume that Lion is also a girl. However I do not think this way. Will said that to put it simply, Lion and Beatrice (Yasu) are like the 2 sides of a coin. That must mean that they are the opposite of each other; like yin-yang, morning-night, head-tails, sort of like that. So then if Yasu’s a girl, that makes Lion a boy.

The multiple personality thing also counts. So far, the personalities of Yasu are Shannon and Kanon. Kanon’s a guy (Shannon said she looks at him like her little brother) and Yasu is mentioned to be a tomboy. A tomboy girl has ½ personalities of a girl and ½ personalities of a boy. How do I know this? Because I am one myself. I don’t like wearing skirts or do girlish stuff such as shopping for clothes or gossiping, but I do care about my appearance (especially my hair lol) and I like boys as well (Gokudera, ‘nuff said. I have been with him for 3 years you know /slapped).

Back to the tomboy thing, so if we look at it the mathematical way:

½ girl + ½ boy = ½ girl + ½ boy
Which means, Shannon + Kanon = Yasu + X
X = Lion, which means Lion is a boy.

I think Ryukishi plans to put Lion’s gender in a catbox, so two of the truth exists. Gah this is confusing orz Okay so that’s just how I look at things in EP7. Overall t’was a good read. Although I’m not sure if I will continue playing the rest of the games (I have to finish EP5 though, I’m not sure about EP6 and EP8 because I have those lovely spoilers to read), I’ll still be looking out for the alternate endings of the 8th game. Oh and I’m also looking forward to the last (?) motion graphic. The last one (7th) was excellent and so far it's my favorite one.

asa and the snorting audience

Today was my first violin concert and I think it was pretty satisfying. I think. I did well while practicing but when I had to perform I was nervous and I screwed up in some parts orz I had to redo the last part of the song because I was trembling and I couldn't move the bow properly.

Thank god one of the audience snorted (and I think I heard some of them giggling as well) because this made me snort too and somehow that stopped me from trembling too much. That was weird actually. I had thought I would be like "holy crap someone is laughing at me jsdklaf;sdj I will sulk when I get home", but no. Instead in my head I thought "you haven't seen the real thing, HAHA". I managed to play the last half like a boss and I must admit I like it better than the first half of the song.

Want to know the song I played? Here it is. Although it's not a recording of me playing AND DAMN THE KID'S BETTER THAN ME ORZ, but it's the same song. If you're learning the violin, then you might know it already (it's Etude & its variation from Suzuki 1. Yes I'm still in grade 1 you have a problem with that?).

Oh and I can play the Nyan Nyan Jingle from Macross Frontier using the violin now! Maybe I'll record it sometime when I find out how to do it lol
